Specimens are the name given to the depictions placed on the screen before the start of the Karagoz play. In other words, it is the visual that prepares the audience for the play before the opening of the play. There are some evaluations about that these visuals provide information to the audience before the play begins.

The Art of Depiction is the material that sheds light on the historical process of Karagöz and gives information about the art of visionaries and their repertoire of play. Therefore, this is an integral part of Karagöz art.

Specimens depicted in two separate groups as Temporary specimens and decorative specimens. Whether reproduction or original designs are all documents showing the artist’s artistic competence, giving information about the artist. In this presentation, specimen examples will be evaluated in the historical process and will be introduced to enthusiasts.
