About the Competition

International Golden Karagöz Folk Dances Competition

The International Golden Karagöz Folk Dances Competition is a prestigious international competition organized annually by the Bursa Culture Art and Tourism Foundation (BKSTV), bringing together folk dance groups from around the world.

Held continuously since 1988, the competition aims to keep folk dances alive and to bring different cultures together through this art form.

Participation Requirements

Folk dance groups from all countries may apply.
Each group must perform their own country's authentic folk dances.
Groups must consist of a minimum of 8 and maximum of 25 dancers.
Stage performance must be between 8 and 15 minutes.
