Second night of the Golden Karagöz becomes a visual feast

On the second evening of the 38th International Golden Karagöz (Altın Karagöz) Folk Dance Competition, organized by the Bursa Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation (BKSTV) under the leadership of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, the Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre brought the world's different cultures together on a single stage. Local and international folk dance ensembles gave the people of Bursa an unforgettable evening with their captivating performances.

Taking the stage on the second day of the competition, the ensembles from Iran, Bulgaria, Algeria, South Korea and Georgia carried the audience on a journey across cultures with their traditional costumes, distinctive choreographies and high-energy stage presence. The breathtaking performances drew long applause from the art lovers who filled the Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre.

As the night went on, the festival spirit reached its peak. The local ensembles taking part in the competition — the Bursa Tatars Sword-and-Shield Folk Dances Association, HOTEAD Bursa, the Zafer Folk Dances Association, the BÇMG Association Nova Culture and Art Ensemble and the Koza Culture, Art and Sports Club — also added color to the evening with their stage performances. Bringing Bursa's deep-rooted folk dance tradition together with international ensembles on the same stage, the local groups won great acclaim from the audience.

At the end of the night, participation certificates were presented to the local folk dance ensembles by BKSTV Vice President Nilüfer Çevikel, BKSTV Board Member Berk Vardar, BKSTV Secretary General Gencer Uçar and BKSTV Director Mehmet Emin Üstüntaş.

As part of the competition, which runs until July 12, performances staged at the Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre and at various spots across Bursa will continue to bring the city together with the universal language of culture and art.
