10.07.2026
The International Golden Karagöz (Altın Karagöz) Folk Dance Competition, organized for the 38th time this year by the Bursa Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation (BKSTV) on behalf of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, once again hosted moments full of culture and art at the Kültürpark Open-Air Theatre on its third night.
The İnegöl Rumeli Culture Association Folk Dance Ensemble opened the night, followed by the ensembles from Hungary, Mexico, Moldova and Russia, who gave the audience an unforgettable evening with their traditional costumes, distinctive choreographies and stage performances. The shows, which brought the world's different cultures together in Bursa, drew long applause from art lovers.
Taking the stage after the international ensembles, the Bursa Anka Culture, Art and Sports Club, the Bursa Sword-and-Shield Folklore and Tourism Association, the Bursa Rumelians Folk Dances Association, the New Generation Village Institutes Association Bursa Branch Folk Dance Ensemble, the Osmangazi Municipality Folk Dance Ensemble and the Namık Kemal Folk Dances Sports Club also added color to the night with their accomplished performances. Bringing Bursa's rich folk dance tradition together with international ensembles on the same stage, the local groups won great acclaim.
At the end of the program, participation certificates were presented to the performing folk dance ensembles by BKSTV Acting President Nilüfer Çevikel and Board Member Berk Vardar.
In the competition, which continues until July 12, the international ensembles will give their best performances in pursuit of the Golden Karagöz on the night of July 11. The winners will be announced at the final night on July 12.
